Tracey Jackson Headlines Literacy Partners Third “Food for Thought” Luncheon with Special Guests

On April 7, Literacy Partners, New York City’s only nationally accredited adult literacy program, held the third luncheon in their annual Food for Thought series.

The intimate event featured a presentation by Tracey Jackson, author of Between a Rock and a Hot Place: Why Fifty Is Not the New Thirty.

Following Jackson’s talk, wowOwow.com CEO and founding member Joni Evans led a panel discussion with Jackson, TLC’s What Not To Wear Make-Up Guru and author Carmindy and O Magazine Beauty Director and author Valerie Monroe.

The lively discourse covered everything from how women become “invisible” to society as they age to the latest cosmetic surgery treatments – and involved spirited conversations with esteemed audience members including 60 Minutes correspondent Leslie Stahl, Allure Contributing Editor-at-Large Joan Kron, New York Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon Haideh Hirmand, M.D. and renowned columnist Liz Smith, Literacy Partners co-founder, longtime board member and honorary chair .

Literacy Partners Honorary Chair Jacqueline Weld Drake and committee members Patricia Beard, Jill Blanchard, Jacqueline M. Garrett, Lois Nasser, Marjorie Reed Gordon, Susan W. Rotenstreich, Anne Sitrick and Joan S. Steinberg were in attendance, alongside Literacy Partners Executive Director Susan A. McLean.
