The Bash: A Halloween Happening

Imagine a world where Strawberry Shortcake, Jack Sparrow and Frankenstein dance side by side to the Village People’s YMCA.

This world is called The Bash and it is the hottest Halloween party in Houston, Texas. No frills or fancy dinner, this party means business – and that business is good ole fashioned fun! Chairmen, Newie and Dr. Mark Brinker, cooked up another fabulous party for 2010, with more raffle prizes and Skyrocket making a return as the night’s entertainment. Relocated to The Corinthian, The Bash was held on Saturday, October 30, and once again benefited the Cerebral Palsy Fund of Easter Seals Greater Houston, who serves people of all ages with disabilities, as well as their families.

When asked where he and Newie first got the idea for The Bash, Mark says, “Halloween is the perfect holiday. It transcends social and economic boundaries and brings people together for one singular purpose…to have fun.” And those Brinkers sure do know how to have fun! As the Beatles in Sgt. Pepper regalia with their gorgeous go-go girls, Newie, Mark and their entourage tore up the dance floor impressing the entire crowd at the 2009 Bash. But Newie and Mark are blew the roof off with their top secret costumes - Mr. and Mrs. Mad Hatter, a la Johnny Depp!
Raising over $198,000 in only its second year, the Bash was a huge success! Save the date for 2011 - Saturday, October 29 - it's sure to be another fabulously fun party raising much needed funds for people with disabilities.
