North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee Presents Checks to Local Food Banks

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) celebrated big wins as the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee presented the local Food Banks with checks totaling over $1.85 million.

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) celebrated big wins as the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee presented the local Food Banks with checks totaling over $1.85 million--representing the largest donations to date for each of the charities. The funding, which will help feed hungry children, families and seniors in the two Food Banks' combined 25 local counties, comes from the surplus after putting on last year's Super Bowl.

NTFB received a little over $1 million from the donation. The Food Bank and the North Texas Super Bowl Committee also announced a $1 Million Matching Gift Challenge asking supporters to help double the impact and score the last of its much-needed holiday fundraising goal. NTFB's $1 Million Matching Gift Challenge, held through March 31, 2012, will be promoted online at ntfb.org and through social media.
