March of Dimes Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganza

MARCH OF DIMES SERVES UP A DELECTABLE EVENING WHILE RAISING OVER $100,000 TO SAVE BABIES

The aroma was tantalizing at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganza on October 14th at The Boca Raton Resort & Club. In one delightful evening 500 guests were able visit with chefs from the area’s top restaurants, sample distinctive wines and cocktails, and bid on unique auction items. Over $100,000 was raised to fund March of Dimes programs of community service, research, advocacy, and education to give all babies a healthy start.
“In this tumultuous economic time, to surpass this year’s ambitious goal of $100,000 for the Signature Chefs event is a significant tribute to the unwavering commitment and enthusiasm of the event committee, participating chefs and wine vendors, sponsors, March of Dimes staff, and attendees who were all determined to help ensure that every baby gets a healthy start in life” said Chef Chair Zach Bell, of Cafe Boulud Palm Beach.
Attendees were fortunate to have sampled the 25 chef’s selected appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The savoring samples included white veal ragout with garganelli from Chef Chair Zach Bell of Café Boulud Palm Beach; surf and turf mac and cheese with braised Kobe beef short rib, taleggio truffle cream, and butter poached lobster from Chef Andrew Roenbeck of The Boca Raton Resort & Club; and strozzapreti pasta with a Chianti & San Marzano lamb ragu and sicilian aged ricotta cheese, plus homemade espresso and mascarpone tiramisu from Chef Rickie Piper of Casa d’Angelo to name a few.
These delicious culinary creations were complimented with wines and spirits courtesy of Total Wine & More, The Macallan, and Vincent Van Gogh Vodka, and coffee and tea from Mr. Coffee®.
