Arts Ed Matters Lauch Party and Silent Auction

Arts Ed Matters Lauch Party and Silent Auction

Arts Ed Matters Launch Party and Silent Auction was held at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco, Ca on Saturday September 17th, 2011.

Original art work was donated by local Bay Area artists - over 65 pieces total. Live bands and DJs entertained the crowd during the event.

Arts Ed Matters is committed to advocating for a strong presence of the arts in public education. We believe that early and sustainable exposure to visual and performing arts curriculum fosters a more complete process of learning, helps to build healthy and vibrant communities, and prepares students to enter an ever-changing global landscape. Access to the arts is unequal and insufficient, and our public schools’ curriculum continues to grow more and more narrow in scope. To address this issue, we will advocate for the arts through fostering community dialogue, instilling a sense of urgency, reaching out to local politicians, and empowering parents as activists.
