A Celebration of 5s
04/25/2010 - By Wellesley, MA

A Celebration of 5s

On April 25th, Web of Benefit hosted Celebration of 5s to commemorate five years and 500 grants awarded to survivors of domestic violence.

This amazing milestone was a cause for a celebration including awards, music, a live auction, and a benefit drawing. Some of the benefit drawings offerings included Red Sox Tickets, spa packages, and gift certificates for fine restaurant dining. The big ticket items at the live auction were a two-bedroom condo for one week at an RCI vacation house.

Web of Benefit awarded its annual Woman of the Web Award to Ann Wilkinson. An award is given each year to the woman who personifies the essence of the Web of Benefit philosophy and the belief in:

* The power of the feminine spirit to overcome adversity.
* The ability to create and realize her dreams.
* The realization of her highest potential.
* The “Pay-It-Forward” philosophy of good works.

Numerous businesses generously donated food for the event: Thank you to Shaws, Hazel's Bakery, Lulu's Sweet Shoppe, and Costco. The event raised more than $11,000. All proceeds will fund more than 22 Self- Sufficiency Grants given to survivors of domestic violence for education, housing, micro-financing, and more.
