10/16/2010 - By Sugar Land, TX

9th Annual Run to Cure HD

The 9th Annual Run to Cure HD was held on Oct. 16, 2010 in Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, TX. More than 400 runners came out to enjoy a beautiful day of fun, food and friendship.

Race proceeds exceeded $60,000 to help find a cure for Huntington's disease. Huntington's disease (HD) is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control, and for which, presently, there is no treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. More than 30,000 people in the United States are currently diagnosed with HD and 200,000 are at-risk.
